Praying for Others

I believe that is very important to teach our children to pray for other people. We have often asked our Sonic carhop or our grocery bagger if they need prayer for something. As awkward as it is sometimes, we have NEVER had someone say no. They have never said, "I'm good" or "Nah, my life is going perfectly." Instead, they have responded with "Please pray for my family as we struggling financially" or "Please pray for my children as they grow up". I have to admit that we often get too busy and I neglect to teach my children the importance of interceding for other people, including strangers. One of my goals for the New Year is to be more mindful of this as we are out and about. I have recently challenged myself and my children to ask 2-3 strangers each week if they need prayer.
